Every year, just as the weather begins cooling down, the Tulsa State Fair makes an appearance for 11 days, bringing along livestock shows, craft and food competitions, concerts, rides and, of course, food.

The fair will begin Sept. 29 through Oct. 4, and is at the Tulsa Fairgrounds on Yale between 15th and 21st.

Like any institution, ORU has many aspiring and talented musicians learning and perfecting their craft each day in classes. However, some ORU students have taken the step forward to become recording artists.

Will Retherford, junior marketing major, first picked up the guitar in sixth grade and has been writing songs and playing music ever since. He wanted to get together enough songs for his very own album for a long time and finally in December over Christmas break in 2010 his dream became reality.
