Date Doctor: Do fireworks indicate real potential?

Robert Redmond. Internet PhotoFor me, and probably most other native Tulsans, spring has always been a joyful season.

In fact, it seems that the totality of nature becomes somewhat happier; the temperature is pristine, flowers and trees begin to bloom, even the occasional warm April shower initiates a sense of excitement that entices us to put on some rain boots and hop around in puddles.

It also seems that with this communal participation in seasonal happiness, an alarming amount of new romantic relationships begin to form.

Spring is the period where individuals finally summon the gumption to pursue their romantic interests.

Date Doctor: Embracing the Valentine’s spirit

Robert Redmond's the Date Doctor. Internet PhotoAlthough the Valentine’s season has been formed and fueled by American consumerism, I, contrary to my core principles of being, actually laud what Western culture has attempted to do with the month of February.

Valentine’s Day reminds us that the dismal winter wind will soon fade and the blooming flowers of spring will soon inspire a lively vigor to our souls. It provides us with a certain hope that our current environment, though presently cold and dreary, will eventually become brighter.

Mr. or Mrs. Right? Or Right NOW?

Christian AranzaWe’ve all been there; “love” at first sight, touch, talk...etc. We all know that feeling in your stomach when you really, really like someone.

So how can you decide if that feeling of like, love or lust means the person is “the one?”

It’s fairly simple after about the 15th time you experience and lose that feeling. I must have said at least 20 times, “This is the ONE!,” only to lose or walk away from the relationship within months.

So how can you really know? Have you ever asked an older person the infamous question, “how did you know?” They all give the same unhelpful answer! “I just knew it!” Well, I’m glad they’re all prophetic, but for those of us who don’t “just know,” how can we find out?

Summer is here! What now for you two?

Christian AranzaSo the summer is here and you’re excited to head home, but most of you will be heading in opposite directions of the boyfriend or girlfriend you’ve made here.

So what does this mean for the status of your relationship? Will you do the long-distance relationship for a few months, call it quits or leave it at friends?

As a guy who has successfully accomplished years of long-distance dating, here’s my advice and some pointers to last you the summer. If your relationship is a solid one and you feel like this could be the person you desire to spend the rest of your life with, then for you, this is a great test to find out!

Pre-Marital Sex - Why Not? Here’s why...

Christian AranzaEven as I write, I sit here thinking about the conversation I’ve had with myself a thousand times. Why didn’t I wait? Was it worth it? Would I be an entirely different person, husband and one-day father?

I will never know the answers to those questions. I lost my virginity when I was 18, late by today’s standards, but early by the standards I had once set for myself.
