ORU's Stoever Signs with U.S. Bobsled Team

Katie Stoever, a 2010 ORU graduate and former pole vaulter for the ORU women’s track team, has qualified for the U.S. Bobsled Team. She will be part of the America’s Cup Circuit.

 

“We’re really excited about it,” ORU Assistant Track Coach Chris Brown said. “She’s worked hard for it. This is a great way for her to continue in her athletic career. We know she will do a great job.”

Athletes in the America’s Cup Circuit rely on personal funds for competition expenses. Stoever is now looking for sponsorships to help her fund future competitions.

At ORU, Stoever placed 10th at the NCAA tournament in 2009 and holds the record for women’s pole vaulting.

Stoever graduated in May 2010 with a degree in Media, Public Relations and Advertising.
